What is LED light therapy

How long to use LED light therapy
A course of 6-8 treatments are recommended for LED light therapy to improve your cellular function and  be effective long term. A one off treatment will give you an instant glow and supercharge your skin treatment however results are accumulative and need to be performed once or ideally twice a week for optimal results.

Can you use LED light therapy every day?
LED Light therapy does not contain or use Ultraviolet (UV) rays, which are harmful to the skin. Therefore, LED therapy is gently and safe for regular use. Studies show that best results are achieved when treatments are performed with approximately 48-72 hours apart for 8 sessions and then ongoing maintenance sessions from there.

How long does it take LED light therapy to work?
Typically you will see improvements from your very first treatment. With chronic conditions, it may get worse before it gets better. This is normal and to be expected. Patience and consistency will help you to achieve desired results.

Which LED light therapy is best for rosacea?
Red 633nm and Infrared Yellow 830nm LED light therapy are primarily best for treating rosacea. Blue light 415nm is typically used for killing the bacteria associated with acne.

Which LED light therapy is best for acne?
Blue LED Light Therapy specifically targets acne bacteria that cause acne lesions. By removing the bacteria, this treatment reduces active acne.

Who is not suitable for LED light therapy?
Although there is no clinical evidence of harm, we do not perform LED or any laser and light based treatments during pregnancy. 

Many clients ask us about photosensitising medication as many laser centres refuse to treat clients who are taking these medications. Reviews of published literature, on the use of lasers or LED in clients taking and photosensitive medications, do not report any complications therefore with caution they can have LED light therapy. It is typically Ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths that certain medications are sensitive to.

Are LED light therapy masks effective?
At-home LED masks can be used for convenience and whilst there will be some therapeutic benefit the downside is that the results may not be as dramatic as an in-clinic medical device as they are limited to the amount of energy output.

What else can LED light therapy work for?
